In this type of terrain, there is no vegetation and many shadows due to vast differences in terrain height, as the lighting is not directed ontop of the terrain. .

This terrain also has many shadows, however, are much sharper due to rough hills and cliffs, as the lighting is directed towards the side of the mountains (morning or evening). There is also vegetation at the foreground of the image.

The entire terrain in this image is completely flat, consisting of many cracks throughout the plain. There is vegetation in the distance, and the lighting is smooth across the terrain, apart from shadows within the cracks in the ground.

 \
Lighting is prominently different then the latter, as it is much more softer, casting shadows from the boulders and other large rock formations. There is little vegetation present across this terrain.

Unlike the other terrains, this contains a large amount of vegetation, however, the terrain is shaped by man, creating symmetrical shaping of the hills for rice farming. Lighting is bright and clear. This type of terrain can be found in my place of origin, Indonesia.
